Product Description
This antibody s obtained by immunization with purified human hemoglobin (Hb) and affinity purified with human Hb on agarose. The purified antibody is covalently linked to peroxidase (HRP). The antibody could be utilized for detection and quantitation of the human hemoglobin using ELISA, and WB methods.
Species
Rabbit
Formulation
250 µg/mL in TBS, 50% glycerol, 0.01% NaN3
Immunogen
Human hemoglobin: whole protein
Purification
The antibody was affinity purified with pure human hemoglobin on agarose beads.
Conjugation
The antibody is linked to HRP via reductive amination method with Ab:HRP ratio=1:2
Specificity
The antibody recognizes human hemoglobin. It may cross-react with hemoglobin of other mammalian species.
Applications
ELISA (0.1-0.5 µg/mL); WB (0.25-1 µg/mL)
Scientific Description
Hemoglobin is the iron-containing oxygen-transport metalloprotein in the red blood cells.
Hemoglobin concentration measurement is among the most commonly performed blood tests, usually as part of a complete blood count.
In medicine, hemoglobinuria is a condition in which the hemoglobin is found in abnormally high concentrations in the urine. This condition is often associated with hemolytic anemia, in which red blood cells (RBCs) are destroyed, thereby increasing levels of free plasma hemoglobin. Excess hemoglobin is filtered by the kidneys, which excrete it into the urine, giving urine a purple color.
