Product Description

The affinity purified rabbit polyclonal anti-Mono-methylated lysine antibody was developed using a technique unique to ImmuneChem. The Mono-methylated lysine antibody was affinity purified using N-Mono-methyl (epsilon amino group) lysine on agarose as the affinity matrix. The antibody could be utilized for detection, quantization and isolation of proteins with Mono-methylated lysine residues.



Western blot analysis of the Mono-methylated histone from melanoma cells with anti-mono-Methylated lysine (anti-mMeK, (ICP0401) Histones were isolated with cold 0.1M HCl extraction followed by this method.

A: Blot with 0.5 µg/mL of anti-mMeK (ICP0401) in PBSt + methylated BSA (ICP0504) 100 µg/mL

B: Blot with 0.5 µg/mL of anti-MeK (ICP0401) in PBSt







250 µg/mL in PBS, 50% glycerol.

The antibody recognizes proteins or peptides Mono-methylated on the lysine residues. The antibody is slightly (30%) cross-reacted with dimethyllysine, not cross-reacted with trimethylysine and acetyllysine.





The antibody was immunoaffinity purified with epsilon N-mono-methyl lysine on agarose.






ELISA: 0.25-0.5 ug/mL

WB: 0.25-0.5 ug/mL

IHC: 2-5 ug/mL

IP: 10-20 ug/mg crude protein





Scientific Description

MeK is a conserved post-translational modification and is an important biochemical process for many protein-protein interactions. It is found in many proteins, for example calmodulin, cytochrome C, chromosomal proteins, histones, non-histones as well as neural storage body proteins. It has been suggested that Mono-methylation of lysine plays an important role in gene silencing.
