Description: AKT (PKB) is a family kinase, which is responsive for cell activation. The anti-Akt (phosphoser473) antibody was raised with a peptide derived from the human Akt c-termnal peptide with the phosphorylatedsite on er473 and affinity purified with the same peptide as affinity matrix followed by the adsorpyion with the non-phosphorylated peptide. |

Scientific Description: Protein kinase B or Akt (PKB/Akt) is a serine/threonine kinase. In mammals, three highly homologous members of Akt are PKB alpha (Akt1), PKB beta (Akt2) and PKB gamma (Akt3). The enzyme is activated upon the phosphoryaltion on the site serine473. This enzyme is involved in important cellular processes such as glucose metabolism, cell proliferation, apoptosis, transcription and cell migration.
