Description: Affinity purified rabbit polyclonal anti-p70 S6K antibodies were developed with c-terminal peptide of human S6K (p70) and were conjugated to horse-radish peroxidase through reductive amination. This conjugates has been used for one-step immuno-
blotting of crude cell lysates and immunoprecipitated p70 S6K. The use of HRP conjugates, reduce time of blotting and background, particularly the interfere of IgG bands resulting from IP.

Scientific Description: p70S6K is a protein serine/threonine kinase that exists ubiquitously. [1] p70S6K affects the activities of cell cycle. p70S6K is an important regulator of cell proliferation. [2] p70S6K activation requires sequential phosphorylations at proline-directed residues in the putative autoinhibitory pseudosubstrate domain, as well as threonine 389. Activation of p70S6K requires a phosphoinositide 3-kinase (PI3-K)-dependent signal(s).
